Does anyone expect to get back something that was thrown away decades ago? Usually this is not the case. American citizen Troy Heller didn’t think so either. But his luck is exceptional. A letter that was thrown into the sea 37 years ago has been returned unsolicited.
The incident of getting the letter back took place on November 13. That day Katie Carmax and Annie Carmax were walking on the beach in Sebastian, Florida. The area was previously hit by Hurricane Nicole. That day, some teachers were cleaning up the trash that had accumulated on the beach due to the hurricane.

They hand a bottle to Katie and Annie. There was a letter in that bottle. It contained Troy Heller’s name, an address and phone number. Using this information, Katie and Annie begin searching for Troy online. It was later discovered that a man of the same name lived in Mount Washington, Kentucky.
Then the two called that address. Seeing the unknown number, Troy did not pick up the phone at first. Later he was surprised to see a small message. He said, ‘Whenever I saw the message, I remembered the incident of putting the letter in a bottle and throwing it away.’

Reminiscing, Troy said he visited Vero Beach, Florida in 1985. He was only 10 years old then. At that time he threw the bottle into the sea water. But he didn’t expect it to be the same almost four decades later.
Meanwhile, after finding Troy, Katie and Annie send him the letter. Troy now has the letter framed with his picture. The picture was taken when he was throwing the bottle with the letter into the water.

‘It’s something you can’t even imagine,’ said Troy. I thought to throw the bottle in water and see how far it goes. But finally getting the bottle back to me is amazing.’
