
Approval of 3 new departments in Jagannath University
Jagannath University (JUB) has sanctioned three new departments under the Faculty of Fine Arts. Yesterday, Saturday night, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Imdadul Haque confirmed this.
The three categories are drawing and painting, print making and sculpture. Bangladesh University Grants Commission approves these three departments.
Professor Dr. Imdadul Haque said that there were three subjects in the fine arts department. We have tried to make three distinct categories. Henceforth there will be no fine arts department. Faculty of Fine Arts. And under the faculty, three departments viz- drawing and painting, print making and sculpture will run separately.
He also said that students will benefit by doing three sections. More students can study in three categories. Can be professionally more proficient in certain subjects. You will get good opportunities in the job market.
Meanwhile, Director of the University Grants Commission. Jaminur Rahman signed the approval of department three, it is said that the curriculum and syllabus should be formulated with the approval of the academic council of the university with the approval of the academic council of the university with the priority of the thematic importance including the necessary laboratories for the commencement of education and research activities.
A total of 60 (sixty) students can be admitted at the Bachelor (Honours) level on the basis of merit in each academic year in three departments (Drawing and Painting, Printmaking and Sculpture) under the Faculty of Fine Arts.
Apart from this, it is also said that modern facilities including adequate books, journals, multimedia should be ensured in the library for academic and research of the students. In the recruitment of teachers, the guidelines of minimum qualification for recruitment of teachers of public universities approved by UGC should be followed.
Part-time teachers may be appointed to facilitate teaching. However, in that case, the contract teacher recruitment policy by UGC has to be followed. Students should take necessary facilities for research, experimental art practice.
