Our Islam Desk: Health Minister Zahid Malek said that apart from Manikganj, 6 million people in 1.5 million families will be given free treatment and medicine under the health protection program in other districts. In the next phase, the people of the entire country will be brought under this health protection.
The minister said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the discussion meeting on the occasion of the inauguration of Health Protection Program (SSK) at Manikganj District Shilpakala Academy Auditorium today on Saturday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Zahid Malek also said, “We hope that due to this health protection, no more people will come below the poverty line after seeking treatment.”
Health Minister Zahid Malek said that the health protection program (SSK) is that all members of very poor families will be given free treatment every year. It was started as a pilot project in Tangail district several years ago. Now this project will be developed in 6 more districts. Among them, the first one was inaugurated in Manikganj.
In Manikganj, 1 lakh 50 thousand families of 7 upazilas, 2 municipalities and 65 unions will be distributed under this treatment in a package of 50 thousand taka for various diseases and medicines. Apart from that, traveling allowance will also be provided. About 110 diseases will be treated.
The minister said, initially this system will be in government hospitals, but later we will bring private hospitals under it.
The health minister also said that we want health services not only in Dhaka, we want to take this good service at district, upazila and even union level. We will have 10 ICO beds, dialysis beds in each district hospital. You know many people in Bangladesh are suffering from kidney disease. It takes 4-5 thousand taka once to go for dialysis. So we are doing the work that can be done without root at the district level.
He also said, we are working on the system of telemedicine. So that people can get better treatment at home. We are increasing the quality of health care day by day.
Health Minister Zahid Malek said that no work was done in the country during BNP Jamaat period. Rather, they stopped the project of Awami League when they came to power.
10 crore people are provided medical care every year from community clinics. This service was also stopped by BNP. Therefore, if the trend of development is to continue, if the average income is to be increased, he also called to vote for Sheikh Hasina’s boat brand again.
