Three people, including a grandmother and granddaughter, were injured when a bus ran over them on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Gazipur. The incident took place around 7:30 pm on Tuesday (January 10) in Chaikdana Malekerbari area.

They were first sent to the local Taerunnessa Memorial Medical College Hospital in critical condition. If their condition worsened there, they were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment. The condition of two of them is said to be critical. At one point, the agitators set fire to three cars indiscriminately. and vandalized several vehicles. Two units of Gazipur Fire Service rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire.

Alamgir Hossain, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police, said that three people, including their grandmother and grandson, were crossing the road in the area of ​​Chaikdana Malek’s house under Gacha police station on Tuesday evening. At that time, a recklessly speeding passenger bus of Dhaka-bound Anabil Paribahan hit the three people. They were seriously injured. They were rescued and taken to Tayrunnesa Memorial Medical College Hospital in Targach locality. The identities of the injured were not immediately known.

Meanwhile, after receiving the information, the police went to the spot and brought the situation under control. Two units of Gazipur Fire Service reached the spot and extinguished the fire of three vehicles. At this time, traffic in both directions of the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway was stopped. After about two hours, traffic on that road was normal.

Tairunnessa Memorial Medical College Hospital doctor Ashraf Hossain said that the condition of the injured was serious and they were referred to Dhaka with first aid.
