Two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident in Jessore. The accident took place at Shantala area of Jessore-Jhenaidah highway on Tuesday (January 10) around 9:30 pm.
The deceased are – Bulu Mia (40) of Barobazar Badurgacha village, Kaliganj, Jhenaidah, a businessman by profession and Hayrat Ali (35) of Syedpur Kodalipur area of Chougacha, a hired motorcycle driver by profession.
Kotwali Police Inspector (Investigation) AKM Shafiqul Alam Chowdhury said that Bulu Mia and Hayrat Ali left for home on a motorcycle after finishing work from Jessore city. On the way, they met with an accident in Shantala area of Jessore Cantonment. Locals found the car involved in the accident on the side of the road and two people dead on the spot. When the local residents informed the police and fire service personnel, the two bodies were recovered and sent to Jessore General Hospital morgue.
The police officer said that it was not confirmed what caused the motorcycle accident.
