State mourning in Turkey-Syria earthquake in the country today
A notification regarding mourning was issued by the Cabinet Department on Wednesday.
Cabinet Secretary Mahbub Hossain signed the notification as per the order of the President. According to the notification, the government has decided that a day of national mourning will be observed in Bangladesh on Thursday, February 9, for the deaths of citizens of Turkey and Syria in the recent earthquake.
On this occasion, the national flag will be flown at half-mast in all government, semi-government and autonomous institutions, educational institutions and Bangladesh missions abroad, and special prayers will be organized in all religious institutions of the country for the peace of the souls of the victims.
