Earthquakes are a warning to people

Earthquakes are a warning from Allah to mankind. Earthquakes, solar eclipses, floods, storms, famines and pestilences are given to warn people when they transgress the limits of immorality and wickedness in this world. So that they learn from this calamity and calamity, return to the path of Almighty Allah. Remember Him and seek His forgiveness. The great Lord declared, ‘Due to the actions of man, calamity has spread on land and sea. That they may taste the punishment of their deeds, that they may return.’ (Sura and Room-41).
In another verse, he says, ‘The calamities that befall you are the result of your actions and He forgives many of your sins.’ (Surah Ash Shura-30). According to the Qur’an and Sunnah, one of the causes of earthquakes and God-given disasters is the misdeeds of humans. One day the world will be destroyed on the path of this crime. There will be a great flood. Rasulullah (s.a.w.s.) said, ‘There will be no doomsday until knowledge is removed, time will be shortened, fitnah will be revealed and murder, murder, terror will increase.’ (Sahih Bukhari-979).
In another hadith, Rasulullah (SAW) said, ‘When my Ummah indulges in 15 evil deeds, calamity will befall them. When booty (public property) becomes private property, deposits become booty, zakat becomes a fine, a man obeys his wife and disobeys his mother, treats his friend well but misbehaves with his father, shouts loudly in the mosque. , a person of the worst character will be the leader of the society, a person will be respected for fear of his evil, will drink alcohol, will wear forbidden clothes and the people of the last generation of this Ummah will rebuke their predecessors, then you will await the punishment of fire, landslides or disfigurement. ‘ (Tirmidhi, Ha. 2210). Allama Ibnul Qayyim (RA) said, Almighty Allah sometimes allows the world to come alive. As a result, earthquakes are felt. People are afraid of it. They repent to Almighty Allah, forsake wrongdoing, run to Allah and repent for their sins and pray. The terrible situation in Turkey and Syria, which was devastated by the earthquake, is a big warning for us. It is very important that everyone is sincere in their cooperation as much as possible. It is necessary for everyone to return to the great creator. Everyone should remember him and repent for what he has done. In order to warn people, Allah has revealed a unique Surah called Ziljal in the Holy Qur’an about earthquakes. History has it that when there was an earthquake, Omar Ibn Abdul Aziz (R.A.) used to write letters to his governors to warn them and give charity. Therefore, it is expedient for us to move towards self-purification very quickly without delay. May the Merciful Allah protect us from all kinds of dangers and keep us safe. Amen!
