Bangladesh-Gambia will work jointly in peacekeeping mission
Bangladesh and Gambia will work jointly in the UN peacekeeping mission. For this purpose, both sides have signed the Joint Political Declaration (Joint Political Declaration).
Sunday (February 12) at the State Guest House Jamuna in Dhaka, Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen and Gambian Foreign Minister Mamadou Tangara signed the agreement on their respective behalf.
At this time, the Minister of Foreign Affairs. AK Abdul Momen told reporters that the agreement we have signed is related to the co-deployment of peacekeeping forces. In the future, many of our peacekeeping forces will have peacekeepers from The Gambia. One lakh 84 thousand Bangladeshi peacekeepers have worked in the United Nations.
The foreign minister of Gambia said that Bangladesh has a very big role in the UN peace mission. Therefore, this agreement has been signed between Gambia, Bangladesh and the United Nations for the purpose of tripartite cooperation.
Gambia’s foreign minister said that Gambia stands by Bangladesh on the Rohingya issue. However, there is a shortage of funds to handle cases at the International Criminal Court. But we are optimistic about this. Many have pledged money.
