Stating that the Awami League under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina is now more united and strong than at any time in the past, Obaidul Quader said, “We achieved victory through the surrender of the Pakistani invaders in 1971.” But this victory was not complete, until Sheikh Mujib, the hero of the victory, who was imprisoned in Pakistan, was released. Victory was incomplete in his absence. That incomplete victory was completed today, January 10, 1972.
He further said, today’s pledge of this day, Bangabandhu’s dream is an ideal state. That ideal state is our commitment. We will establish that ideal state.
Obaidul Quader said, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we will build Bangabandhu’s dream of Sonar Bangla along the highway of development. It is our oath on this day to build a developed and prosperous Bangladesh in the year 2041, i.e. Smart Bangladesh, in accordance with Bangabandhu’s dream of Sonar Bangla.
