The lowest temperature in the country was recorded in Rajshahi at 7.8 degrees Celsius, said the Meteorological Department.
The Meteorological Office bulletin said, from 9 am on Wednesday (January 11), mild to moderate cold flow over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions including Jessore, Chuadanga and may continue for the next 24 hours.
According to the bulletin, the extension of the subcontinental high pressure area is located over Panchimbang and adjoining Bangladesh. Seasonal normal low pressure is located over South Bay of Bengal. Weather over the country may remain dry with skies temporarily partly cloudy. Moderate to heavy fog may occur over river basins and light to moderate fog over other parts of the country from midnight to morning.
Besides, the night temperature may decrease slightly and the day temperature may remain almost unchanged across the country. Temperatures may increase during the next 72 hours with light to drizzling rains, the Met Office said.
