The Court of Kurigram Chief Judicial Magistrate has ordered to stop the salary of three police officers for ignoring the court order and to appear in person at a later date to answer the show cause notice.
Although there is a case for witnesses in the judicial court, the accused police officers did not appear for 11 to 22 working days even after receiving a copy of the court order, the judge expressed anger. As it appears to be in contempt of court, the judge of the third court of judicial magistrate said. Majnu Mia gave this order.
The order said, failure to appear in court on receipt of court orders and summons is an offense punishable under Section 485(A) of CrPC. In another case, the investigating officer of Rajarhat police station, SI Asheduzzaman, was absent on the last 19 scheduled dates, ignoring the judge’s order in the judicial court.
Counsel for the accused in GR-203/2019 of Rajarhat police station, Jinnat Ara Parul, said that this is a drug case. Accused 2 Haider and Biblab. Alleged possession of 100 grams of 50 grams of drugs. The case has been going on for almost four years. Even though the accused appear regularly, justice is not served as the state does not provide witnesses. Courts have issued bold orders to uphold justice and stop harassment.
Kurigram Additional Superintendent of Police Ruhul Amin confirmed the fact of the incident and said that he received three separate court orders in this regard on Tuesday. Necessary legal action will be taken in this regard.
Lutfar Rahman, the official law officer of the judicial court, said that the trial work was being delayed due to the witnesses not coming on time. The court gave this order in the interest of establishing justice.
Kurigram Public Prosecutor Advocate SM Abraham Lincoln said that as a result of this order of the court, the absence of witnesses of all government departments will be reduced in the future. Which will have a positive effect on the settlement of the case. Willful absence will be waived. It is the sacred duty of government officials to testify in various cases. If not, the judicial process is disrupted.
