The Homecoming Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was celebrated at the Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A discussion meeting was organized on the occasion of the day in the auditorium of the embassy on Tuesday (January 10) morning. At this time, the message given by the President and the Prime Minister on the occasion of Bangabandhu’s Homecoming Day was read. Embassy officials and employees attended the event.
In the speech of the President, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy, Abul Hasan Mridha, said, “Our great victory has been fulfilled by Bangabandhu’s homecoming.” On January 10, 1972, when Bangabandhu returned to the country after being freed from the Pakistani prison, a huge number of people of Bangladesh took to the streets to cheer. The entire nation was filled with joy that day. We achieved independence through nine months of bloody armed struggle led by Bangabandhu.

The Deputy Head of Mission said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of the Father of the Nation, has continued the overall development of the country with the aim of realizing Bangabandhu’s dream of Sonar Bangla and is working to implement the spirit of the Liberation War. The development of Bangladesh today is a wonder to the world. Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Deputy Head of Mission Abul Hasan Mridha called upon everyone to come forward to build a developed, prosperous, smart Bangladesh by 2041.
