Death of Fardin: Bushra was released

Amatullah Bushra has been released after serving time in prison in connection with the death of Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) student Fardin Noor Parsh. He was released after 61 days in prison. Bushra was handed over to her father Manjurul Islam at 2.30 pm on Tuesday (January 10).

Senior Jail Superintendent of Kashimpur Women’s Central Jail Obaidur Rahman confirmed the matter to the media.

Earlier, Judge Tehsin Iftekhar of Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court-7 of Dhaka granted interim bail to Bushra last Sunday. The body of Fardin, a third-year student of Civil Engineering Department of BUET, was recovered from Shitalakshya river in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj on November 7, 3 days after his disappearance.

After going missing on November 4, Fardin’s body was recovered from Shitalakshya river in Narayanganj on November 7 afternoon. Before Fardin went missing, he was last seen with Bushra in Rampura area. Because of that, Fardin’s father made a GD at Rampura police station.

Two days after finding his son’s body, on the morning of November 10, he filed a murder case at Rampura police station, where Bushra was made the sole accused.
